Department of Neurosurgery

Department of Neurosurgery is well known to be the pioneer department in the country led by Prof. UP Devkota and supported by Dr. DN Gongal for last 10 years. The department has 100 beds and a well-equipped OT and ICU set-up. The department is famous for its excellent neurosurgical care across the country. Advanced gadgets in surgical techniques are continually added to facilitate the neurosurgical outcome. To name few, the department provides neuronavigation services, stereotactic technology, endoscopic neurosurgery, transcranial Doppler, ICP monitoring etc. The institute is also known for its academic excellence in neurosurgery. It started MCh course under Kathmandu University (KU) in the year 2065 BS. FRCS-Neurosurgery candidates are also being trained here regularly. Currently there are 4 MCh residents and 3 FRCS residents.

Department of Radiology:

The department is supported by Dr. Prity Agrawal, Dr. Kajan Ranabhat and Dr. Pratik Shrestha who are experienced consultants in the department, providing regular services. Services like DSA, MRI (1.5T), CT scan, USG, Doppler, ECHO, X-Ray are routinely done. MD-Radiology residents and radiographer trainee are being posted to the department form other institutes (BPKIHS, Dharan & Nobel Medical College) regularly.

Department of Physiotherapy:

Services are provided on in-patient and out-patient basis with recent equipment and a well-set physiotherapy unit. For clinical experience, 2nd and 3rd year BPT students are regularly posted from KU.

Department of Pathology:

This well-established department is led by Dr. Rajesh Panth and is supported by Dr. Bharat Mani Pokhrel and others. Hematology, Parasitology, Biochemistry, Serology, Histopathology, Microbiology, and immunological tests are routinely conducted.
